FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How many lists can I compare at once?

You can compare 2-4 lists simultaneously. For most use cases, comparing 2 lists is sufficient to find common items and differences.

What's the difference between common items and merged items?

Common items are entries that appear in ALL lists (intersection). Merged items combine all lists and remove duplicates (union).

Is my data private and secure?

Yes! All comparison happens in your browser using JavaScript. Your data never leaves your computer or gets uploaded to any server.

Can I compare lists with different case sensitivity?

Yes! You can toggle case-sensitive comparison on or off. By default, comparisons are case-insensitive (e.g., "Apple" and "apple" are treated as the same).

How do I export my comparison results?

After comparing, click "Export TXT" for a formatted text report or "Export CSV" to open results in Excel or Google Sheets.

What's the maximum list size I can compare?

You can compare lists with up to 50,000 items each. For very large lists (10,000+ items), you may see a performance warning, but the tool will still work.

Does the tool handle special characters and emojis?

Yes! The comparison tool works with all UTF-8 characters, including special characters, numbers, and emojis.

How do I compare CSV files?

Copy the column you want to compare from your CSV file and paste it into one of the list input boxes. Each row will be treated as a separate item.
